v 19 June 2011 New Sunday School We had a good number of children starting Sunday school in our new hall. On arrival they made name plaques, and we had an introductory chat. We had a discussion about Who is Jesus?, The Trinity, The Lord’s Prayer and praying. Then Taylor read the children’s version of the Lord’s Prayer to us; and I should add that she read it beautifully too. None of these children had birthdays this month, but we decided to dip into the jelly babies anyway! We made bookmarks, which the children could decorate as they pleased – stickers, glue, coloured papers, foil, ribbons, felt tips etc. Then they were laminated. Wish I had taken my camera as they were all so interesting. I think some of them were going to be Father's Day presents by the lovely messages on them. We had 10 minutes of 'noise and madness' when we played the “Arky arky song”. This was followed by the work sheets - so we were all ‘nice and calm’ by the time the parents arrived! Kerris v

25 March 2011 Lent Soup Lunch for Christian Aid
Many enjoyed a super lunch in the new hall to support Christian Aid.
There was a choice of three soups, leek and potato, carrot and coriander or tomato. There was also a good selection of deserts too. I can report that the cheese cake was delicious. This was followed by tea or coffee. There was also a raffle and tombola.
Thank you to Gail and all her helpers for their hard work in providing us with a delightful lunch. I will add the result of how much was raise for Christian Aid when I have the details.
v
Lent Course The Lent course (The York Course) 14 March 2011, 4 April 2011 and 11 April 2011 was well attended.
Thank you Philip, and thank you also to Gail for the refreshments.
