December 2007

It
was a full church at each of the three Christingle Services.
The
Christingle service is a beautiful family service where each child is given
a Christingle to remind them of the true
meaning of Christmas. Christingles are lit and "Away in a
Manger" is sung by candle-light. Very moving and memorable.
Over
£400 was raised for the "Children's
Society".

2 December - 1st Sunday in Advent
Thank you to St Nicholas who
visited us today. He told us about his life, and brought some special biscuits for our good children
(and good grown ups).
Thank you
also to all those who brought a gift for a less
fortunate child. These gifts will be taken to St Paul's in
Salford.

Safari
Supper
The
Safari Supper raised £422 for church funds.
Thank
you to everyone.

Tree Trimming
You are sure to have noticed the results of
the mammoth task of trimming the trees around the perimeter near the church
hall and the car park that has been carried out in October/November.
We are very grateful to Richard Hollinshead and his team (Donald, Ben, Tom
Macdonald, Leslie Mulliner, Glynn Hulme) for their superb efforts, and also
to Marshall Charlesworth for the use of the JCB and his expertise.
It looks a vast improvement, and has also removed the risk of injury and
damage from falling branches.
THANK YOU to all those involved.
