Sunday school has been collecting coins for UNICEF'S
"JAR OF GRACE"
during the first
half of 2007.
Our appeal closed on the 24th June.
We raised £17.00
This will be used to
help fund basic education for children around the world.
Well done children and thank you to all those who
have supported us.

Easter
2007
At the Sunday
school before Holy week we were very
busy. We talked about the events that took place in the lead up to
Easter. We made paper crosses, looked at the Easter garden and made
pictures to decorate the church. Then we went into the churchyard to
see if the bulbs that the Sunday school children planted a few
years ago had grown. They had and they looked beautiful amongst
the primroses.
It was
fortunate that we
did; because we also found some
Easter eggs!
Palm Sunday
- Everyone received a palm cross to remind them of the decisive step Jesus
took when riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, knowing that he would be
crucified there. The children joined in the procession carrying
palm leaves.
Good Friday
- We remembered the Crucifixion of Jesus. We went to the Easter Garden
where some of the children put three crosses in place as we sang a
hymn and heard the account of the crucifixion. The children
received a cream egg at the end of the service; I think it was a bit
early but I didn't hear any of them complain!
Easter Day
- This is when we celebrate the resurrection. The cross was back
on the altar, flowers everywhere, an Easter garden and Easter pictures
by the children. Cream eggs were given to everyone during the
service that wanted one; these remind us of new life and new beginnings.
Hollow eggs remind us of the empty tomb after Jesus had risen.
The Easter service was followed by refreshments in the
hall.
